I qualified as a counsellor in 2017 after spending the last 10 years as an emotional health and well-being advisor within the NHS.
Throughout this time I undertook extensive & regular training in children's safeguarding, child sexual exploitation, conflict resolution, drug, alcohol, smoking cessation and data protection. It is these high standards of confidentiality, record keeping and a holistic approach to patient care which I have adapted into my counselling work.
I am currently working within secondary education specifically within the field of emotional & mental health. I strive to emotionally support the students (and staff) in a challenging & rewarding educational environment.
I believe the most important aspect of counselling is the relationship between client and counsellor, and without that connection positive change is unlikely to occur. If you've had counselling before or have apprehensions about how a young person may struggle to engage, call me with your concerns. I'd be happy to help.
